like the handwriting isn’t even the same

oh gawd I can’t believe I’m doing this
there are many small differences between the actual note and the tattoo that make them different
hell it’s cute but in the end it’s different enough to essentially get boiled down to something that looks like a generic child’s handwriting. They removed most of the idiosyncrasies that make this child’s handwriting their own. If I took a note that my child’s note in and this was the result I would not be pleased.
- the general shape of the first D is not the same, the tattoo is lacking the little dip in the lower left corner
- the A isn’t the same angle as the original and the left leg is oddly fat while the horizontal line doesn’t go out the same amount and then dip down. Also the point sticks out way more than the kid’s rather crisp point
- the second D is lacking the little tail that sticks out from the left hand leg and curves some and the curve shouldn’t be attached to the vertical leg at the top
- the third D is not the right size to retain the original scale. The curve is not the right amount on the top. It’s missing the overlapping line that curves in on the bottom
- the Y is the wrong size as well and the right side is not nearly as curvy as the original. Which is weird because the tattoo artist omitted the majority of the child’s curves. Including the one that juts out and up from the intersection of the child’s joint.
- I’ll let the I and L go because of the way it curves around the guy’s arm and the shadow
- The O. Why the hell isn’t the top connected? There’s no cutesy gap in the original
- The V lacks the swerve on the left hand size and doesn’t have the curve on the left hand side either
- The E’s top curve does not have the proper curve or size to retain the scale of the original. Also the gap between the horizontal line and the back isn’t large enough. The bottom curve is also the wrong size and shape to look like the original
- again I’ll leave this y alone as well because of the curve and shadow
- The O is missing the small gap and tail on top
- The U is probably the closest to the original
so again. I reiterate that it is NOT the same handwriting and I’d be pissed if I paid for it to remember my son’s childhood and got this caricature.
